HEY Michiganders where is everyone??
Hello everyone! I'm from Grand Rapids. I had no idea there was a Michigan forum. I'm always on the VSG forum. I'm 4 months out from surgery and have lost 88 lbs! I love my sleeve.. I can't believe I waited so long to get it.
I also love BCBS of Michigan. Got the surgery with no problems from them. I wonder how I find this forum in the future, lol.
Hey Everyone,,,,,,,,Ya, sometimes I am just a lurker but come here everyday if I have the time.
I here from Muskegon MI. Grand Rapids is very close to me!! I am hoping to get date next week form Dr. Glucks office. He will review my chart and move to Patti who does the scheduling . I hope he's not to tired from his medical conference to move me to my final procession of all this.

Hi Colleen,
I am Carla Klein, I know Muskegon very well, My grandmother is from there and my stepmother used to live there. I still have cousins live there. I get up there quite often.
I had my surgery in 2002 and lost now 160 pounds. Can you believe I am still loosing after 5 years????? I cant. I had my surgery in Englewood Colorado.
Good luck on your surgery you will do great whenever it is. Carla
Been a while since I checked in, too.
As for me, I'm 2.5 months out and I've lost about 60 lbs so far. My problem lately is getting in all my proteins -- I find I'm not that hungry for anything, even for the chocolate protein shakes I love. The only thing that DOES appeal to me is beef jerky. Go figure.
Other than that? I'm down from a size 4x to a size 2x in shirts. I'm down two sizes in bras and underwear, too. I'm wearing women's jeans (size 28 and they're baggy!) from a men's size 56. I went to see my grandmother last Wednesday for the first time in a month and her eyes nearly popped out of her head when she saw me. Everyone has been complimenting me like crazy about the weight loss. I feel shy and embarrassed by it, for some reason -- you'd think I'd be all proud and strutting around, decrying, "OH YEAH!"
It's just hard to believe this is happening...that I'm below 300lbs for the first time in almost 15 years...that I'm wearing clothes I haven't worn in as long...that I'm able to buckle my seatbelt without the help of an extender...
I did make a resolution for next year: my best friend and I are going to do the Labor Day Mackinac Bridge Walk in '08. Five miles, one-way. I think by then I'll be more than able to do it! :)
So, yeah. Hi, everyone! Hope you're all doing well, too!

I'm "new" to the group. Happy to find a few people in my neck of the woods. I had lap-band on 10/8/07. Starting weight was 253 and now 238. Getting all the fluids and protein in seems like a full-time job right now but I am not complaining! I am cleared to start at the gym next week and I'm a bit anxious.
